About
About me
I'm Mike Gibson, a freelance software engineer based in Falls Church, Virginia.
I created Rebrand Software, LLC in 2003. At first I sold white-label software that clients could "rebrand" as their own. Over time I changed course to focus on custom application development and consulting.
That work has touched many fields: chemical analysis, environmental science, gaming, healthcare, encryption, e-commerce, and more. I have published software on every major app store, for companies ranging from sole-proprietor startups to firms with billions in revenue.
By 2023 it was clear that AI was a technology I needed to master, however I felt about it personally.
Since then I have become an expert in generative AI, using it to save time where it helps and steering around the common pitfalls. I also have mastered AI deployment, fine-tuning, GPU provisioning, and node-based content generation. I wrote more about how I use it, and where I avoid it, on my How I Use AI page.
Outside of work I am happily married and raising two daughters. We enjoy rock climbing, playing intricate board games, and geocaching. I'm an advocate for science, reason, and animal welfare.
